Experian Decision Analytics launches regulatory relations initiative
With the growing complexity of risk and regulation in today's financial services industry, Experian Decision Analytics is leading the way to communicate with regulatory agencies, educating them on the latest advanced risk solutions used by the industry. The advancement of scoring models, as well as Basel requirements, has resulted in the need for a higher level of training and understanding by regulators in these areas. As a result, Experian Decision Analytics is sharing our client's experiences and needs with the agencies that regulate them and, in turn, we're communicating with clients about current and emerging regulatory issues. In the last two months, we have held several training sessions with federal agencies and more events are scheduled. Evidence of our training's effectiveness came when a client recently indicated their primary regulator was knowledgeable about Experian Decision Analytics' latest offering, Scorex PLUSSM, a new bureau risk score. Other initiatives under way include an upcoming Regulatory Relations web page on the Experian Decision Analytics website and participation by the regulatory agencies in sponsored conferences.

A three-pronged strategy management approach to maximizing bottom-line profits
Are you extracting maximum value and unlocking the true potential of your portfolio? Most companies are so busy tending to day-to-day business pressures; they're unable to focus on their strategy management systems. To assist you in deriving more profit from your existing systems, Experian Decision Analytics offers a new set of consulting propositions called Strategic Roadmap, Health Check Service and Strategy Review Service.

Strategic roadmap:
This consulting process identifies, clarifies and prioritizes your business needs, enabling a clearer vision throughout the business and accelerating benefits historically overlooked. In addition to identifying the key business initiatives required to maximize profits, Experian Decision Analytics assists in synthesizing and prioritizing these initiatives based on implementation complexity and estimated financial impact. These initiatives fall into four business areas-- origination, acquisition, customer management and collections-- and cover marketing, credit risk and fraud issues.

Health check:
Experian Decision Analytics' consultants work with your organization, reviewing existing policy and operational processes and making pragmatic suggestions for improvement. Health Check enables credit managers to ensure their scoring models and strategies perform as desired. A high-level review of sales, marketing, communication, data, reporting, analytical tools and strategy management efforts is executed in the context of existing processes versus best practices, as well as theory versus practice. Internal inconsistencies are also ferreted out to assist in setting new rules and objectives for increased efficiencies.

Strategy review:
Experian Decision Analytics consultants work closely with your organization to design, review and update current business strategies. This is accomplished in six phases:

  • Planning phase - A stakeholder discussion reviewing project boundary issues, current objectives and identifying future objectives and milestones.
  • Review phase - Review current policy and operational issues, scorecard and model efficiency, and results from previous tests.
  • Design phase - research, develop and design new strategies, confirming objectives and key success factors.
  • Implementation phase - Identify issues within live environment, including audit strategy flows, reporting and operations and examining feedback from operational areas.
  • Monitoring phase - Review initial reports to identify unexpected issues, review results monthly to identify trends and consider pertinent benchmark data.
  • Reporting phase - Hold quarterly review to assess interim results and hold annual meeting to review year-end results and develop next strategy designs.

IntelliscoreSM
Experian Decision Analytics and Experian recently launched our new state-of-the-art Commercial IntelliscoreSM and new Small Business IntelliscoreSM. The Commercial Intelliscore model was developed using commercial data only and predicts the likelihood of a business going 91+ days DBT or worse in the next 12 months. Perhaps even more exciting is the new Small Business Intelliscore which incorporates a blend of both consumer and commercial data to predict the likelihood of a business going 91+ days DBT or worse in the next 12 months. Both models incorporate cutting edge segmentation, a "pre-score" and more than 200 newly-created commercial attributes. Results from several client validations are tremendous. The models consistently generate significant lift over Experian's current models and score more businesses than previous models. For more information on Commercial Intelliscore and Small Business Intelliscore, contact your Experian Decision Analytics sales representative.

ASC develops regulatory compliance software systems that provide anti-money laundering solutions for banks and other financial institutions worldwide. Federal regulations imposed by Section 326 of the USA PATRIOT Act require companies to develop and implement a customer identification program to protect the U.S. financial system from money laundering, terrorist financing, identity theft and other forms of fraud. Experian and Experian Decision Analytics will announce exciting advances in the way we serve our customers' fraud prevention needs at the Vision Conference 2004.
